City in the Clouds

I was sorting through a shoebox of photos the other day when I came across this one from Machu Picchu this past August. I had a chance to visit Bolivia and Peru in South America for a couple of weeks, and I think I can safely say this was the highlight of my trip! Machu Picchu was an old Inca city high in the clouds on a mountain peak. It's abandoned now, but it's still in great shape because it was "lost" for many years. That's right, people completely forgot it was there up at the top of the mountain! Fortunately it was rediscovered about 100 years ago and now it's open to visitors like you and me. I'd try to visit as soon as I could if I were you though. The United Nations says there are so many visitors coming every year now that there's a danger the site is getting damaged. Hopefully people will try to conserve these beautiful places so that your children and your children's children will get a chance to see it for themselves!

Hello World!

Hello all! As the official mascot of Camp G people are pretty used to seeing me and my magical powers in action during the summer. Little do they know I actually lead a rather adventurous life throughout the entire year. Getting to travel a lot and learn all about different places and things is just one of the perks of the job. For instance, here is a photo of me by the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy. Did you know Galileo himself supposedly used this tower to test his theories about gravity? I just hope gravity doesn't make the whole thing come tumbling down!

So after giving it much thought, I have decided to give up on my old-fashioned ways, join the 21st century and publish this blog. I've had some adventures and learned a lot in my short life, and I'd like to share with the world. I hope you like it!
